Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: A clavícula localiza-se na face ventral, junto ao ápice do tórax, e une este à escápula. Esta se articula com o esterno e primeira cartilagem costal e com o acrômio. A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo estudar as características diferenciais entre as clavículas pertencentes a indivíduos de ambos os sexos pelo estudo das seguintes medidas: comprimento máximo da clavícula direita, comprimento máximo da clavícula esquerda, peso da clavícula direita, perímetro médio da clavícula direita e perímetro médio da clavícula esquerda. Para a realização da pesquisa foram utilizados 200 clavículas (compreendendo a clavícula direita e esquerda) sendo 100 provenientes de indivíduos do sexo masculino e 100 do sexo feminino, com procedência conhecida e certeza quanto ao sexo, cor da pele e idade de indivíduos adultos, provindos do Ossário do Cemitério Municipal São Gonçalo, da cidade de Cuiabá do estado de Mato Grosso, Brasil. As medidas das distâncias e pesos citados (mm e gramas) foram realizadas com auxílio de um paquímetro e balança digital, tábua osteométrica e fita métrica, e os resultados foram submetidos a análise estatística (estatística descritiva, teste "t" e regressão logística). Verificou-se que todas as medidas estudadas são dimórficas e estabeleceu-se uma fórmula para a determinação do sexo (logito= 46,4548 - 0,7357.Perímetro médio da clavícula direita - 0,1380 . Comprimento máximo da clavícula esquerda), a que pertence a clavícula de forma prática e confiável, com um índice de confiabilidade de 97,2%. Concluiu-se que trata-se de um método eficiente e que pode ser utilizado para a identificação do sexo em avaliações futuras podendo ser utilizada nos serviços de Antropologia e Institutos Médico-Legais, com alta confiabilidade. For the accomplishment of the research 200 had been used clavicle (understanding clavicle right and left) being 100 of masculine sex and 100 of the feminine sex, with known origin and certainty how much to the sex, color of the skin and age of adult individuais, come from the place of stay of the bones of the Municipal Cemetery São Gonçalo, of the city of Cuiabá of the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The measures of the pitches and cited weights (mm and gram) had been carried through with one aid pachymeter and digital scale, osteometric tablet and metric tape, and the results had been submitted the analysis statistics (descriptive statistics, test t. and logistic regression). It was verified that all the studied measures are dimorphic and established a formula for the determination of sex (Iogito = 46.4548. 0,7357. perímetro of clavicle right. 0.1380 . size of clavicle left) , the one that belongs clavicle of practical and trustworthy form, with an index of reliability of 97.2 %. Was concluded that it is about an efficient method and that can be used for the identification of the sex in future evaluations being able to be used in the jobs of Anthropology and Medicolegal Justinian codes, with high reliability.
