Previous issue date: 2015-02-25 / CAPES / Esta dissertação pretende realizar uma reflexão acerca do papel do arquivista, na construção de lugares de memória, partindo das mudanças ocorridas no uso e produção da informação. Para tal, partimos da análise da construção social da memória, a partir do acervo produzido pelo ex-governador do Estado de Pernambuco, Miguel Arraes de Alencar, durante o período no qual esteve exilado na Argélia (1965-1979). Através de pesquisa exploratória e bibliográfica, objetiva-se compreender e caracterizar a trajetória de um arquivo, o qual nasceu com propósito de servir como acervo corrente (de uso imediato e específico) e, com o tempo, tornou-se lugar de memória. Hoje, 49 anos após seu surgimento, o acervo analisado é uma fonte de memória pessoal e política, que retrata parte da história coletiva e social do país. Buscamos caracterizar a documentação que forma a Série Exílio, custodiada pelo Instituto Miguel Arraes (IMA), possibilitando a reconstrução da representação das informações ali contidas. / This dissertation intends to carry out a reflection on the archivist's role in the construction of places of memory, based on the changes in the use and production of information. To this end, we start from the analysis of the social construction of memory, from the archives produced by the former governor of the state of Pernambuco, Miguel Arraes de Alencar during the period in which he was exiled in Algeria (1965-1979). Through exploratory research and literature, the objective is to understand and characterize the path of a file, which was born as a current collection (of immediate and specific use), and in time became a place of memory, and today, 49 years after its emergence, a source of personal and political memory, which depicts part of the collective and social history. We seek to characterize the documentation that forms the Exile series, guarded by the Institute Miguel Arraes (IMA), allowing the reconstruction of the representation of the information contained therein.
