Orientador: João Cardoso Palma Filho / Banca: Rejane Galvão Coutinho / Banca: Maria Leila Alves / Resumo: Esta pesquisa de cunho qualitativo e quantitativo investigou e verificou a prática do professor de arte após reflexões e discussões provocadas por um mediador, se propôs a compreender e a responder à seguinte questão: em que medida a formação continuada está provocando mudanças nas práticas do ensino de Arte? Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa com professores de educação básica de séries iniciais (PEB-I) e professores especialistas de Educação Artística (PEB-II). No trabalho, analisa-se um projeto de formação continuada de arte para o Ciclo-I desenvolvido em quatro escolas públicas estaduais na cidade de Várzea Paulista, interior do estado de São Paulo, que oferece o ensino fundamental-I (1ª a 4ª séries). Partindo daí, esta pesquisa buscou investigar a possibilidade de uma ação de formação continuada de caráter reflexivo, a promoção de mudanças significativas na visão e nas atitudes dos professores, acerca de sua prática pedagógica. Portanto, recuperar as histórias da profissão professor e de vida dos educadores possibilita não só a socialização das competências já construídas, como também favorece uma análise critica dos acertos e dos possíveis equívocos que ocorreram nessas trajetórias, para direcionar melhor as práticas futuras e a formação continuada. A análise dos dados evidencia os problemas enfrentados pelas professoras em sua formação inicial, ingresso na profissão e nas práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas, identificando suas dificuldades e necessidades no exercício da função docente. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que o curso de formação provocou mudanças significativas, na forma do professor enxergar o atual ensino. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: This qualitative and quantitative research has investigated and verified the practice of the Art teacher after the reflections and discussions provoked by a mediator and its proposal is to answer the following question: In what terms has the continued formation being guaranteeing the changing in the practice of Art teaching? Answering this question resulted a research process involving teachers of the Basic Education for the initial grades (PEB I) and specialists Art Education teachers (PEB II). During this work a continued education project developed in four state public schools that offer basic education (from the 1st to the 4th grades), in Várzea Paulista City, São Paulo State, Brazil was analysed. After this step, this research investigated the possibility of a continued formation action of reflective character to have practical effectiveness in the promotion of significant changes in the vision and attitudes of the teachers concerning their pedagogical practice. Therefore, recuperating the teaching professional stories and life of the educators not only made possible the socialization of the constructed abilities already, as well as it provided a critical analysis of the rightnesss and the possible mistakes that might have occurred in these trajectories, facts that can improve the actions taken to direct the future practices and the continued formation. The analysis of the data evidences the problems faced by the teachers in their initial formation and professional ingression considering the developed pedagogical practices, identifying their difficulties and necessities in the exercise of the teaching function.
