Previous issue date: 2015 / Este trabalho tem como objetivo fazer um estudo do feio como categoria estética. Para isso, o ponto de partida foram dois textos nos quais o tema do feio foi colocado em evidência pela primeira vez: em alguns trechos da obra Laocoonte de Lessing e na Estética do feio de Rosenkranz. Em um primeiro momento, foram elaborados estudos na história da estética, ou seja, procuramos nos textos filosóficos autores que tenham tratado da relação entre o belo e o feio. Em seguida, foi desenvolvido um estudo sobre a obra Estética do feio, no qual, devido ao volume do texto, optamos por fazer um recorte sobre a relação entre o feio como categoria estética e a questão das artes plásticas. Por fim, foi proposta uma aproximação entre o feio e a representação da natureza nas artes plásticas no pensamento de Rosenkranz e a maneira como essa questão fora abordada por Courbet e Paul Klee – esses artistas foram escolhidos porque, além do trabalho pictórico, também escreveram sobre uma possível desconsideração da beleza em prol da sensação do artista. ___________________________________________________________________________ / ABSTRACT: This work aims to study ugliness as aesthetic category. For this, the starting point was two texts in which the subject of ugly was placed in evidence for the first time: in the texts Lessing Laocoon and Rosenkranz Aesthetic of ugly. At first, studies were developed in the history of aesthetics, that is, we sought out in philosophical texts authors who have addressed the relationship between the beautiful and the ugly. Then, we developed a study of the Aesthetic of ugly in which we decided to perform a cut in the relationship between the ugly as an aesthetic category and the issue of fine arts. Finally, we proposed a new approximation between the ugly and the representation of nature in art in the thinking of Rosenkranz and how this issue had been raised by Courbet and Paul Klee - these artists were chosen because, beyond the pictorial work, they also wrote about a possible disregard of beauty in favor of the artist's feeling.
