Previous issue date: 2015-09-23 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation, produced in the line Oral and written text and discourse of the syllabus of Portuguese Language of the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP), aims to do a rhetorical reading of an economic opinion article by Celso Ming appeared in the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo. For analysis purposes it is used the perspective of the rhetoric, Greek art and technique that studies the discourses used to persuade, and the opinion article, with a structure that includes an observed problem, a discussion and a solution or evaluation of the issue. Besides, it allows a rhetoric reading taking into account intra and extra text elements, such as the text composition, linguistic marks, the redactor journalist, the reader to whom the text is aimed, the author intentions. The opinion (doxa in rhetoric) promotes an interaction between the parts but a vision or ideological conception prevails. To compose the analytic base of this investigation, we have as foundation the studies of the theorists of the rhetoric areas studying the persuasive speeches and the studies of Aristotle (2005), Perelman-Tyteca (2005), Olivier Reboul (2004), Michael Meyer (2007) and Ferreira (2010). The study starts with the next questions about the act of communication through the newspaper: Whom does it attend? What is made public? What are the consequences of that rhetoric act (the text)? It is also guided by a wide and general objective (analyze through the perspective of the rhetoric the op-ed articles written by the journalist Celso Ming) and by more specific ones: identify in the articles the arguments based on the structure of the real and the authority, link the configuration of the real and the plausible. Guided by such objectives the analytical categories are: I) Identification of the rhetoric genre and question, II) Identification of the rhetoric context, III) Identification of the elements that show the problem and the solution to the problem, IV) Identification with the structure of the rhetoric discourse: inventio, dispositio, elocutio and peroration. The results are: the articles were written in a lapse of time of ten days, from the first to the 11th of January in 2011. The justification to choose texts from this period was the context of the 2008 post-crisis America and the expectative that this referent imposes in the new government being formed in Brazil. This way the rhetorical acts (the texts spread through credited ideology maker newspapers such as O Estado de Sao Paulo) made the opinion articles become influential to the readers. The analysis proves that the prevalent genre in all the articles analyzed was the rhetoric deliberation and that the audience aimed by the speaker varied between the universal and the particular in accordance with each article / Esta dissertação, produzida na linha Texto e discurso nas modalidades oral e escrita, do Programa de Estudos em Língua Portuguesa da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), tem por objetivo realizar uma leitura retórica de artigo opinativo, especificamente, o de domínio econômico, escrito pelo jornalista Celso Ming para o jornal O Estado de São Paulo. Para análise, adota-se a perspectiva da retórica, arte e técnica grega, que se atém aos discursos que são passíveis de persuasão e o estudo do artigo de opinião, cuja estrutura comporta um problema observado, uma discussão e uma solução ou avaliação da questão tratada, além de permitir uma leitura retórica em que se consideram elementos intra e extra textuais: a composição do texto, as marcas linguísticas e também o veículo, o redator- jornalista, o leitor a quem se dirige o texto, as intenções do autor. A opinião (doxa, na retórica) promove uma interação entre as partes, no entanto, uma visão ou concepção ideológica prevalece (a do redator). De forma a compor a base analítica desta investigação, fundamentamo-nos nos estudos de teóricos das áreas de retórica uma leitura retórica se atém aos discursos que se enquadram como persuasivos e os estudos de Aristóteles (2005), de Perelman-Tyteca (2005), Olivier Reboul (2004), Michel Meyer (2007) e Ferreira (2010) O estudo parte das seguintes perguntas sobre o ato de comunicar pelo jornal impresso: a quem atende? O que se divulga? Quais as consequências desse ato retórico (o texto)? Pauta-se, também, em um objetivo amplo e geral (analisar, pela perspectiva da retórica, os artigos de opinião escritos pelo jornalista Celso Ming) e por outros mais específicos: Identificar nos artigos os argumentos: com base na estrutura do real e de autoridade. Relacionar a configuração do real e do verossímil. Guiados por tais objetivos, elencaram-se as categorias de análise: I) identificação do gênero retórico e da questão retórica. II) identificação do contexto retórico, III) dos elementos que evidenciam o problema e da solução do problema, IV) A identificação com a estrutura do discurso retórico: inventio, dispositivo, elocutio e peroração. Os resultados obtidos: os artigos foram escritos no período de dez dias, de1° de janeiro de 2011 a 11 de janeiro deste mesmo ano. A justificativa para escolha dos textos neste período foi o contexto pós-crise americana de 2008 e a expectativa promovida por este referente a um novo governo que se instaurava no Brasil, assim, os atos retóricos (os textos disseminados em jornais de grande credibilidade, como O Estado de São Paulo, formador de ideologias), fez dos artigos de opinião se constituir em mecanismos de influência dos leitores. A análise comprava que prevalece o gênero retórico deliberativo em todos os artigos analisados, o auditório considerado pelo orador variou em consonância com cada artigo entre o universal e o particular
