Previous issue date: 2008 / This dissertation aims at bringing together some critical theories, data and studies — too much spread in Brazil — about the biographical species and their dialogue with the location of culture, specifically with history and fictional narrative. In order to do so, it’s discussed Daniel Madelénat’s notion on the long durée covered by a “classical paradigm of biography”, which extends ever since the Greco-Roman antiquity to the Enlightenment. The notions of “biographical space”, “biographical literature” and “biographical pact” were coined by me embased on Philippe Lejeune’s concepts. Italo Calvino’s thought on the "classical” text and his memos for the millennium underlie the analysis of a corpus formed by some narratives produced from the late 20th century to the 21 st century. This study has as its goal understanding possible links between the biographical forms and contemporary tendencies on historiography and on the novelistic fiction. / Na presente tese, busco reunir estudos, informações e teorias – bastante dispersos em nosso país – acerca das espécies biográficas e seu diálogo com os lugares da cultura, mais especificamente, com a filosofia, a história e a narrativa ficcional. Para tanto, discuto a idéia de Daniel Madelénat sobre a longa duração do “paradigma clássico da biografia”, o qual se estenderia desde a Antigüidade greco-romana até o século XVIII. A partir dos conceitos de Philippe Lejeune, cunho as noções de “espaço biográfico”, “literatura biográfica” e “pacto biográfico”. Baseado na acepção de texto “clássico”, defendida por Ítalo Calvino, e em suas propostas para o 21º milênio, analiso um corpus de narrativas elaboradas entre o final do século XX e a atual centúria, visando entender possíveis vínculos das formas biográficas com as tendências contemporâneas da historiografia e da ficção romanesca.
