La presente tesis analiza los aspectos que hacen necesaria la implementación de una biblioteca pública en Lima Norte, así como también las características de la tipología arquitectónica y su evolución hasta el día de hoy.
El estudio acerca de la relación del edificio y el espacio público es un tema importante a tratar y lleva a proponer como énfasis del proyecto a “la cultura como articulador y activador de espacios públicos”. Así mismo, se ha indagado sobre el tema de los “límites: transparencias y espacios intermedios”, el cual ha sido empleado como referente para la composición y configuración formal y espacial del edificio.
La investigación se complementa con el análisis de los proyectos referenciales, formación de usuarios y sus tipos, los requerimientos para la implementación de bibliotecas públicas, el desarrollo del programa arquitectónico, la observación del lugar donde se ubicará la biblioteca y los criterios que se han tenido en cuenta para su diseño.
El proyecto de la Biblioteca Central de Lima Norte cumple con los estándares internacionales de infraestructura, servicios y fondos según el número de habitantes a servir; emplea las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TICs); integra el edificio con el espacio público; tiene una organización flexible aplicando un sistema constructivo adecuado para tal fin y usa la tecnología en el diseño del edificio. / The present thesis analyzes the aspect that make an implementation of a public library in Lima Norte necessary, as well as the characteristics of the architectural typology and its evolution until today.
The study about the relation between the building and the public space is an important subject to discuss and it leads us to propose emphasis in the project of “the culture as an articulator and activator of public spaces” Likewise, research has been done on the topic of “Limits: transparences and intermediates spaces”, which has been used as reference for both composition and formal and spacial configuration on the building in question.
The research complements itself with the analysis on the referential projects, user’s formation and their types, requirements for the implementation of the public library, the development of the architectural program, and the observation of the place where the library will take place and the criteria that has been taken in consideration for its design.
The project of the Central library in Lima Norte meets the infrastructure’s international standards, services and funds, according to the number of people to serve, uses technology of information and communication (TIC’s), integrates the building with public space, has a flexible organization by applying appropriate constructive systems for the aim, and uses technology in the building’s design.
