This master thesis highlights the risks associated with tunneling in land and mountains. In the report you will find questions raised from the authors. The questions were answered by the company Implenia, which built a tunnel in Vinsta that is linked to the main tunnel in the project E4 Förbifart Stockholm. You can also find answers from the company Zublin regarding the Södermalm tunnel.The purpose of the report was to get an insight into the tunneling process and analyze the risks that appeard in projects E4 Förbifart Stockholm and the Södermalmstunnel.Furthermore, the purpose was also to inform and reach out to others about those risks that may occur in a tunneling process. In addition to this, this work aims to enlightening all projectors about the importance of taking into account the above-mentioned risks at the design stage to prevent shuting down at the construction stage.The questions were answered through interviews with both companies regarding these projects. The projects were interesting to the authors because one company Implenia had to deal with a so-called leakage while making the tunnel. While the company Zublin was working with a so-called mountain race during their tunneling process. More about the handling of these events will be found later in this report.With the help of two compendiums and a doctoral and some webpages, the report was completed. This report is also limited to these two companies and their projects only. / Detta examensarbete framhäver de risker som finns med tunneldrivning i jord och berg. I rapporten finner du som läsare framtagna frågeställningar från författarna. Frågeställningarna är besvarade av företaget Implenia som byggt en tunnel i Vinsta som är kopplad till huvudtunneln i projektet E4 Förbifart Stockholm. Du finner även svar från företaget Zublin angående projektet södermalmstunneln.Syftet med rapporten var bland annat att få en inblick på hur tunneldrivningsprocessen går till samt analysera dem riskerna som uppstod inom projekten E4 förbifart Stockholm och Södermalmstunneln.Vidare var även syftet att informera och nå ut till andra om dem risker som kan förekomma vid tunneldrivningsprocess. Utöver detta syftar det här arbetet till att upplysa samtliga projektörer om hur viktigt det är att ta hänsyn till ovannämnda risker vid projekteringsskedet för att hindra stopp vid byggskedet.Frågeställningarna besvarades genom intervjuer med båda företagen angående dessa projekt. Projekten var intressanta för författarna eftersom det ena företaget Implenia, fick hantera ett så kallat läckage under drivningen av tunneln. Medans företaget Zublin, handskades med ett så kallat ras under deras tunneldrivningsprocess. Mer om hanteringen av dessa händelser framkommer senare i denna rapport.Med hjälp av två kompendier och en doktorsavhandling samt ett fåtal webbsidor på nätet, blev rapporten fullbordad. Denna rapport är även begränsad till enbart dessa två företag och deras projekt.
