Manuel da Silva Pinto (1913-1983) foi um prestigiado Professor Catedrático e Médico da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto.
Licenciou-se em Medicina e Cirurgia em 1936 e doutorou-se em 1943.
Ensinou e investigou nos domínios da Anatomia Descritiva, Anatomia Topográfica, Histologia e Embriologia e em Oftalmologia, tendo publicado dezenas de trabalhos científicos.
Assumiu a regência de Histologia e Embriologia e a Direção do respetivo laboratório (1947).
Assumiu a regência de Oftalmologia desta Faculdade (1955). Criou e foi o primeiro Diretor do Serviço de Oftalmologia do Hospital Escolar de São João (1959), no qual criou o Banco de Olhos.
Fundou a Sociedade Luso-Hispano-Brasileira de Oftalmologia (1968).
Entre 1976 e 1978, foi Reitor Interino da Universidade do Porto. / Manuel da Silva Pinto (1913-1983) was a prestigious Professor and Physician at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Oporto.

He assumed the conduct of Ophthalmology of this Faculty (1955). He created and was the first Director of the Ophthalmology Service of the São João School Hospital (1959), in which he created the Eye Bank.
He founded the Luso-Hispano-Brazilian Society of Ophthalmology (1968).
Between 1976 and 1978, he was Interim Dean of the University of Oporto.
