A Professora Maria Olívia Rúber de Meneses é reconhecida pelo seu trabalho na História da Medicina e na Deontologia Médica, juntamente com o facto de ter sido a primeira doutorada na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto. Nos trinta anos que passaram desde o seu falecimento, serve esta pequena biografia como uma celebração do seu precioso trabalho e da sua, infelizmente, curta vida. Focando nos principais marcos da vida da Professora, este trabalho começa por explorar as suas origens, passando à análise da sua obra, e aos pontos de vista deixados transparecer, que tão inerentes são à Professora, e à contribuição dada ao conhecimento histórico e deontológico. Ilustre Professora na História da Medicina e na Deontologia Médica, tornou-se regente nestes domínios, diretora do Museu Maximiano Lemos, na Faculdade de Medicina, e membro de várias sociedades nacionais e internacionais. Foi preponderante na proteção da intelectualidade feminina e na equalização da mulher cientista ao homem, com vários trabalhos desenvolvidos nos quais o tema foi abordado. Mais ainda, toda a sua vida constituiu prova do que a Professora defendia com os seus escritos. / Professor Maria Olívia Rúber de Meneses is known for her work in the History of Medicine and Medical Deontology, allied with her being the first woman with a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. In the thirty years that have passed since her death, this small biography serves as a celebration of her precious work and her unfortunately shortened life. Focusing on the major points of Professor Olívia's life, this essay starts by exploring her origins, moving on to the analysis of her work, inherent translucid point-of-view, and her contribution to historical and deontological knowledge. Being illustrious in the History of Medicine and Medical Deontology, she became the teacher in charge of the Discipline, the director of the Museum Maximiano Lemos, in the Faculty of Medicine, and a member of various national and international societies. She was preponderant to the feminism' wave that came after her, due to the development of several pieces of work in which the topic of the female intellectuality was approached, as well as the equal role of women in science compared to men. More so, all her life was proof of what Professor Olívia was defending in such essay.
