Verificamos como ocorre o episódio dialógico interativo durante a ação mediadora na condução do ensino de Cartografia, numa abordagem interdisciplinar e averiguamos a importância das representações cartográficas, especificamente da maquete, para o estudo do espaço geográfico. Realizamos a experiência com maquete por três anos consecutivos. Apresentamos, no primeiro momento deste trabalho, a base teórica e uma síntese sobre a prática básica para a construção de maquetes. Na seqüência, a pesquisa empírica realizada nos últimos anos (1998/1999), com alunos do segundo ano do Curso de Geografia da UNIOESTE, Campus de Francisco Beltrão - PR. A maquete representa a realidade, a relação entre as faixas de altitude, ordenadas no sentido crescente. O que está sendo representado é a relação entre as faixas de altitude experimentadas concretamente no terreno. Respaldamo-nos na metodologia da pesquisa-ação. Efetuamos uma incursão no campo da linguagem, ao abordar o sistema de uso dos signos e da semiótica, destacando a teoria de Charles Peirce. Abordamos, também, a linguagem cartográfica e a maquete geográfica enquanto representação cartográfica e exploramos a mediação enquanto categoria de condução e comunicação pedagógica fundamentada em Vygotsky. / We have developed this research with the goal of an analogical proposal analyzing the teaching-learning process of Geocartography in the university teaching. We have verified how the interactive steps happen during the action, Professor-Student, in the conduction of the Cartography teaching, in an interdisciplinary approach. We have discovered the importance of the cartographic representations, specifically of the mock up for the study of the geographical space. We have accomplished the experience with model for three consecutive years. We have presented, at first the theoretical base and a synthesis on the basic practice for the construction of mocks up. After that, the empiric research accomplished in the last years (1998/1999), with the second year of geography students of UNIOESTE College (West Public University - Paraná), Francisco Beltrão Campus. The mock up represents the reality, the relationship among the altitude belts, and ordinates in an increase sense. What is being represented is the relationship among the tested altitude belts concretely in the land. We have given support in the methodology of the actionresearch . We have made an incursion in the field of the language, when approaching the system of the signs and semiotics using, detaching the Charles Peirce's theory. We have approached, also, the cartographic language and the geographical model as cartographic representation and we have explored the mediation as a conduction category and pedagogical communication based on Vygotsky.
