The thesis Progressive cathecism by Joseph Colomb: inspiration for contemporary cathechetics describes one of the most important parts of work of French theologian Joseph Colomb (1902-1979). Progressive cathecism is divided into three parts - each one focuses on a group of children of different age. The aim of the thesis is to introduce content of the work, its methods and objectives. It also shows the context of Colomb`s thinking and development of cathechesis during the first half of the 20th century. In final part of this work we summarize the points which are important for contemporary cathechetics.
