Moravská nářečí u nejstarší generace mluvčích v argentinské provincii Chaco / Moravian Dialects of the Oldest Generation in the Province of Chaco, Argentina

The diploma thesis is a contribution to the research of Czech in language enclaves abroad. The aim of the work is to describe the East Moravian features in the Argentine region of Chaco at all language levels, namely the phonological, morphological, syntactical, lexical and word-formation ones. In the introduction, the author deals with the history of Czech immigrants to Argentina and their current lives. Special attention is paid to the history of compatriot life in the city of Presidency of Roque Sáenz Peňa, where the largest part of the Czech immigrants settled. The following part describes the methods of material collection and its further processing. Next chapter, presenting linguistic features of the East Moravian dialect group, is followed by a linguistic analysis of East Moravian features that occurred in the speeches recorded by the author. The results of the research are supplied separately for each language level and the influence of Spanish and signs of incipient atrophy are also described. A large number of East Moravian features have been preserved in the speakersʼ language, which still testify to their origin, although the sample of respondents consisted of second- or third-generation speakers.
