This qualitative study aims to analyze the reduced interest in young management as well as the challenges and opportunities young managers can encounter on the labor market. The area was considered important as the labor market faces a major change with many retirements in the next ten years and that greater investments in young managers is necessary. Semi-structured interviews were used to examine what challenges and opportunities existed. The part with empirical materials consists of six interviews where three of these are with young managers where the rest are done with more experienced managers. During the interview procedure, an interview guide was used that was tested and designed to suit the purpose and research questions. The results show that there are several challenges and opportunities regarding leadership at a young age. The main challenges the study clarified were young people's lack of knowledge and experience, while the main opportunities as a young manager are that they possess a drive and a new way of thinking that is beneficial for today's society. The main motivational factors for young managers are development, being involved and influencing, as well as disproving prejudices. The study also clarifies the fact that by highlighting support there is hope that an increased interest in leadership at a young age may occur.
