The diploma thesis called The non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and its role in the implementation of activities for children and youth from children's homes deals with the activities of the non-profit sector in a particular children's home. The thesis is theoretical-empirical. The theoretical part is based on scientific literature and provides basic information about institutional care in the Czech Republic and specific facilities for institutional care. It also includes the basic characteristics of the selected children's home in which the subsequent investigation was conducted. It also deals with the issue of children who have been raised in children's homes for a long time. It deals with the social prognosis of such individuals and discusses the problems faced by children who are raised in these facilities for a long time. The thesis also deals with non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic and their division. It also includes the basic characteristics of non-profit organizations that cooperate with the children's home in which the investigation took place.
