Previous issue date: 2003 / Resumo: o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desajuste cervical antes e após a fixação de coroas totais IPS Empress 2, Cergogold e In Ceram, em preparos sobre dentes bovinos, utilizando 2 tipos de cimento. Noventa incisivos bovinos foram embutidos em resina e as porções coronárias foram preparadas para receber coroas totais completas, usando pontas diamantadas nO 4103 com paredes axiais com expulsividade de 8° e término cervical em ombro reto. Trinta coroas com 8,0 mm de diâmetro por 8,5 mm de altura foram confeccionadas para cada tipo de cerâmica. Após, as coroas foram adaptadas sobre os preparos com carga de 9 kgf por 1 minuto e a discrepância marginal foi medida com microscópio de mensuração (STM). Em seguida, as coroas foram removidas e 15 amostras de cada tipo de cerâmica foram cimentadas sobre os dentes com cimento resinoso (Variolink 11) e 15 com ionômero de vidro modificado por resina (Vitremer) e novamente a discrepância marginal foi medida. Os resultados foram submetidos à Análise de Variância e ao teste de Tukey (5%) e indicaram que os três sistemas cerâmicos apresentaram desajuste cervical após a cimentação estatisticamente superiores ao desajuste cervical antes da cimentação, para os dois cimentos. O sistema IPS Empress 2 apresentou valores de desajuste cervical estatisticamente superior ao Cergogold antes e após a cimentação. Nenhuma diferença estatística foi observada entre o sistema IPS Empress 2 e In Ceram e In Ceram e Cegogold. Para os três sistemas cerâmicos, nenhuma diferença estatistica foi observada para o desajuste cervical quando cimentadas com cimento resinoso e ionomero de vidro / Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cervical fit before and after cementation of IPS Empress 2, Cergogold and In Ceram ali crowns, on bovine teeth preparation utilizing two kinds of the cement. Ninety bovin incisors were embedded in resin and the coronal portions of the teeth were prepared to receive complete crowns using a 4103 diamond bur under refrigeration with 10° of tapering and right shoulder. Thirty crowns with 8.0mm in diameter and 8.5mm height were fabricated for each ceramic system. After, the crowns were seated on the teeth with 9 kgf load for 1 minute and the marginal discrepancy was measured using a mensuration microscopic (STM). Afterwards, the crowns were removed and fifteen samples of each ceramic system were luted on the teeth with resin cement (Variolink 11) and glass ionomer cement (Vitremer) and the marginal discrepancy was measured again. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and Tukey's test (5%) and indicated that the three ceramics systems showed cervical fits after cementation statistically superior than cervical fits before cementation, for the two cements. The IPS Empress 2 showed values of the cervical fits statistically superior than Cergogold before and after cementation. No statistically significant difference was found between IPS Empress 2 and In Ceram and In Ceram and Cergogold. For the three ceramics systems, no statistically significant difference was found for the cervical fit cemented with resin cement and glass ionomer cement / Doutorado / Materiais Dentarios / Doutor em Materiais Dentários
