Metabolic indicators were examined in animals where deficiency was induced with either nitrous oxide (N2O) or by feeding diets of low cobalt content. Results showed that vitamin B12 dependent enzymes in the liver of ruminants appeared to be affected only at a late stage of deficiency. However changes in concentrations of metabolites of these pathways occured earlier. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Adelaide, Dept. of Animal Sciences, 1994
