Notre objectif dans ce mémoire est d’examiner, à travers les trajectoires migratoires des migrants togolais, le rôle joué par la Communauté togolaise au Canada dans leur intégration. La démarche montre que les migrants togolais sont influencés particulièrement dans leur intégration socioéconomique, à leur arrivée au Québec et plus tard aussi dans leur recherche d’emploi, par les organismes comme la CTC et d’autres migrants qui partagent les mêmes référents culturels qu’eux. Tous nos répondants manifestent le besoin d’être aidés dans leur intégration. L'analyse nous a permis aussi de comprendre que si la CTC facilite l’intégration socioéconomique de ses membres au Québec, c’est d’abord en leur offrant un environnement culturellement familier qui leur procure un équilibre moral et une confirmation de leur identité au Québec. Les rencontres qu’organise la CTC permettent aussi aux membres de créer et de renforcer des liens de solidarité qui influencent également positivement leur intégration. / Our objective is to examine the role played by immigrant cultural associations in the integration of their members, with an association of Togolese migrants in Canada (CTC) as our case study. Our approach shows that Togolese migrants are particularly influenced by cultural associations in their social and economic integration, both on arrival and later, during the job search process. They are influenced by the CTC and other associations that share their cultural referents. All of our respondents acknowledge that they need help in their integration process. Our analysis allowed us to understand that if the CTC facilitates the social and economic integration of its members in Quebec, it does so by offering them a culturally familiar environment that allows them to affirm their identity in Quebec. The meetings organized by the CTC allow members to create and reinforce links of solidarity that have a positive influence on their integration.
