«Eskhaton»

Eskhaton is an original musical composition for large wind ensemble and electronics, with a duration of approximately eleven minutes and thirty seconds. The piece is primarily concerned with the concept of distortion, and makes extensive use of timbral, rhythmic, and formal materials adapted from extreme heavy metal music. This thesis is comprised of two volumes: the first is the present analytical paper, which provides an overview of the source materials and compositional techniques I employed in the creation of this piece; the second consists of the musical score and accompanying DVD, which contains the work's electronics.
