The thesis focuses on the role of the civil sector in the local action group Podlipansko which operates in eastern part of the Central Bohemian region. Conceptual framework deals with the characteristics of civil society organizations, demarcation of countryside and its actors, further concept of social capital, partnership and local action groups. The method of the case study is applied in the practical part. Methods of data collection are triangulated. Data was collected by analysis of documents, surveys and semi-structured interviews focusing on civil society organizations. It is a case study of the 2014-2020 programming period. The aim of the thesis is to find out the role of civil society organizations in specific local action group. Using qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection it is found out how the cooperation looks like between civil society organizations and local action group from the perspective of involved organizations. The aim is to explore what are the civil society organizations reasons to enter local action group.
