Diploma thesis " Influence of hockey affairs over leading media " deals with strictness in media control in the country in spring 1969. From august 1968 was Czechoslovakia occupied by the troops of Warsaw pact, under the control were among others also media. The situation was nevertheless desperate, media were partly conserving liberty and relative freedom. In the end of March 1969, during the world championships in Stockholm, Czechoslovak ice hockey national team beated twice the Soviet union. The celebrations of the second win culminated by citizen disturbances, which were partly directed against Soviet companies offices and barracks used for the troops of Warsaw pact. After that incident the Soviet leadership in Moscow realised to tightened up the regime in Czechoslovakia markedly. One of the most afflicted realm was the media realm. This diploma thesis deals with this strictness and with the changes in this realm during the spring of 1969. This period was the most important for progression of media situation in next twenty years.
