CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / This dissertation searched to analyze the Legal Service Organizations â LSO, an up-to-date
and emancipatory legal movement, which has as main objective the promotion and effectivess
human rights of the sectors excluded socially, economically, politically or culturally and,
therefore, the consolidation of a juster society for all. In this sense, the theoretical bases of the
Movement were researched, mainly the Critical Legal Studies, the Alternative Law and the
Post-positivism; and their assumptions, such as the Democratic State of Law, the ample
access to justice, the Community Participatory Legal Pluralism, the Popular Education as a
pedagogical approach to a emancipatory legal education and a Law as an instrument of social
transformation. Furthermore, the characteristics of the Legal Service Organizations and their
differences from Legal Aid were pointed out. A brief review of the LSO and some cearense
experiences of this innovatory legal practice were also related in this work / A presente dissertaÃÃo buscou analisar a Assessoria JurÃdica Popular - AJP, um movimento jurÃdico inovador e emancipatÃrio, que tem como principal objetivo a promoÃÃo e efetivaÃÃo
dos direitos humanos dos setores excluÃdos social, econÃmica, polÃtica ou culturalmente e, dessa forma a consolidaÃÃo de uma sociedade mais justa para todos. Nesse sentido,
pesquisaram-se os referenciais teÃricos do Movimento, com destaque para as Teorias JurÃdicas CrÃticas, o Direito Alternativo e o PÃs-positivismo; os seus pressupostos, tais como o Estado DemocrÃtico de Direito, o amplo acesso à justiÃa, o Pluralismo JurÃdico ComunitÃrio Participativo, a EducaÃÃo Popular como abordagem pedagÃgica para uma educaÃÃo jurÃdica emancipatÃria e um Direito como instrumento de transformaÃÃo social. TambÃm foram assinaladas as caracterÃsticas da Assessoria JurÃdica Popular e suas diferenÃas com a AssistÃncia JudiciÃria Tradicional. Relatou-se, ainda, um breve histÃrico da AJP e algumas
experiÃncias cearenses desta prÃtica jurÃdica inovadora
