Previous issue date: 2006-12-20 / The object of this study was to analyze the environmental sustainability of
natural tourist attractions at three private properties in the municipality of Cidade de
Goiás (City of Goiás) and identify the management situation of these enterprises,
utilizing as reference the sustainable principles and the environmental requirements
described in the Course Program on Sustainable Tourism of the Hospitality Institute.
Firstly, it was established a description of concepts and assumptions of
Tourism, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Tourism and Ecotourism, as
supporting parameters in order to develop the field study.
Following the step mentioned above, a descriptive reference of the
municipality has been carried out, considering that nowadays this place is a world
historic heritage, a region of great tourist attractions in the state of Goiás. This
municipality has also been named as Caminho do ouro (The track to gold) by Mtur
(Tourism Department) and AGETUR (Goiás Tourism Agency).
This local research made it possible to conduct a diagnosis of the present
situation on the site and through this procedure a problem, regarding management
has been identified, pointing out a necessity of evaluating the tourist behavior
because there are relevant requirements to be put into practice in order to achieve a
successful environmental sustainability of the enterprises.
One of the positive facts noticed is that businessmen involved in this kind of
enterprise are committed to promoting necessary actions to develop environmental
education for all the ones involved, such as, employees, tourists and the community
itself, trying to follow a successful path to reach behaving on the basis of sustainable
development. / O objeto de estudo deste trabalho foi analisar a sustentabilidade ambiental
dos atrativos turísticos naturais em três propriedades particulares no município da
Cidade de Goiás e identificar a situação da gestão destes empreendimentos,
utilizando como referência os princípios da sustentabilidade e os requisitos
ambientais descritos no Programa de Certificação em Turismo Sustentável do
Instituto de Hospitalidade.
Em um primeiro momento estabeleceu-se uma descrição dos conceitos e
pressupostos do Turismo, do Desenvolvimento Sustentável, do Turismo Sustentável
e do Ecoturismo, como parâmetros balizadores para a realização do trabalho de
campo.
Posteriormente, desenvolveu-se uma referência descritiva do município, hoje
patrimônio histórico da humanidade, região de grande atratividade turística do
Estado, designada pelo Ministério do Turismo (Mtur) e pela Agência Goiana de
Turismo (AGETUR) como região do Caminho do Ouro.
A verificação do fenômeno turístico local oportunizou a elaboração de um
diagnóstico da atual situação. Nesse procedimento foram identificados problemas de
gestão evidenciando a necessidade de avaliar a conduta turística, pois ainda
existem requisitos relevantes para serem aplicados em busca da sustentabilidade
ambiental dos empreendimentos. Um dos fatores positivos detectados é que os
empresários envolvidos com estes empreendimentos estão comprometidos em
promover ações necessárias para desenvolver a educação ambiental para todos os
envolvidos, sejam eles funcionários, turistas e a própria comunidade, buscando
assim o caminho do desenvolvimento sustentável.
