THE RAMIFICATIONS OF ANTICIPATED INEFFICIENCY IN THE MARKET OF INTERNET SPORTS BOOKS

This research examines the economics of internet sports book industry. Evidence of point shaving in the NFL gambling market is detailed. I also examine the Efficient Markets Hypothesis in the gambling market. In addition, I explore price competition by internet sports books whose objectives are driven by inefficient markets. I use cluster analysis to document internet sports book price competition and introduce a market structure with internet sports books that have multiple objectives. I use a correlation test to support this assertion. / Economics
