Previous issue date: 2014-05-23 / Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Goiás - FAPEG / The present work has as its object of investigation the first public Kindergarten in Goiás. Pointing up as a central issue the following question: how constituted the Kindergarten in Goiás (1928-1937) and what is its relation to the civilizing process in goiana society? Thus, the problematic raised following guided by these objectives: know how it constituted the first Kindergarten of Goiás in the period 1928-1937; know aspects of its constitution and demarcate the goiano context in which it was created; analyze its relationship with the civilizing process in State. The work has as search sources a set of documents relating to the Kindergarten goiano‟s history of Goiás in the decades from 1920 to 1930, among which stands out: the Kindergarten Regulation and Program, issued in 1928, the Primary Education Regulations of the State of Goiás, from 1930 and 1937, numbers of Correio Oficial, press organ, which circulated discussions about education that period. Another move made in the treatment of the topic relates to the theoretical studies of the civilizing process, taking main reference Norbert Elias (1993;1994) and Veiga (2009; 2010). The research was also supported in Kuhlmann Jr. (1998; 2000), Kishimoto (1988), Faria Filho (2004), Abbud (2011), among others, to address question about the “childhood” and its education. To support the discussion on education in Goiás, were used studies of Bretas (1991), Silva (1975), Canezin and Loureiro (1994), Pinto (2011; 2012), Alves (2007) and Valdez (2002). The construction of the political and social context was made from the contribution of the works of Palacín and Moraes (2008) and Chaul (1998). Among the results highlight the constitution of Kindergarten as part of the civilizing process in Goiás, indicating its configuration directed to an active and self-regulatory education that reflected the formation of the child understood the interrelationship with the adult. In this configuration, the Kindergarten in Goiás can be considered as part of the effort to strengthen the state and the formation of new social habitus, whose purpose was to give a new dimension to education and to goiana society towards progress and modernity. / O presente trabalho tem como objeto de investigação o primeiro Jardim de Infância público de Goiás. Aponta-se como questão central a seguinte indagação: como se constituiu o Jardim de Infância em Goiás (1928-1937) e qual sua relação com o processo civilizador em curso na sociedade goiana? Assim, a problemática levantada segue orientada por estes objetivos: conhecer o modo como se constituiu o primeiro Jardim de Infância de Goiás no período de 1928 a 1937; conhecer aspectos de sua constituição e demarcar o contexto goiano em que foi criado; analisar sua relação com o processo civilizador em curso no estado. O trabalho tem como fontes de pesquisa um conjunto de documentos referentes à história do Jardim de Infância goiano nas décadas de 1920 a 1930, dentre os quais se destaca: o Regulamento e Programa do Jardim da Infância, expedido em 1928, os Regulamentos do Ensino Primário do Estado de Goiás de 1930 e 1937, números do Correio Oficial, órgão de imprensa, onde circulava discussões sobre a educação desse período. Outro movimento realizado no tratamento do tema diz respeito aos estudos teóricos sobre processo civilizador, tomando como principais referenciais Norbert Elias (1993; 1994) e Veiga (2009; 2010). A pesquisa se apoia, ainda, em Kuhlmann Jr. (1998; 2000), Kishimoto (1988), Faria Filho (2004), Abbud (2011), dentre outros, para tratar de questões sobre a “infância” e sua educação. Para fundamentar a discussão sobre a educação em Goiás, foram utilizados os estudos de Bretas (1991), Silva (1975), Canezin e Loureiro (1994), Pinto (2011; 2012), Alves (2007) e Valdez (2002). A construção do contexto político e social se fez a partir da contribuição das obras de Palacín e Moraes (2008) e Chaul (1998). Dentre os resultados destaca-se a constituição do Jardim de Infância como parte do processo civilizador em Goiás, assinalando sua configuração direcionada para uma educação ativa e autorreguladora que refletia a formação da criança compreendida na inter-relação com o adulto. Nessa configuração, o Jardim de Infância em Goiás pode ser considerado como peça no esforço de fortalecimento do estado e da formação de novos habitus sociais, cujo propósito era imprimir uma nova dimensão à educação e à sociedade goiana rumo ao progresso e à modernidade.
