nÃo hà / Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a hipÃtese de convergÃncia dos Ãndices de bem estar dos municÃpios do estado do Cearà e a dinÃmica de seu crescimento no perÃodo de 1991-2000. A metodologia aplicada neste trabalho foi o mÃtodo das matrizes de transiÃÃo de Markov, que à um processo de estimaÃÃo das distribuiÃÃes de equilÃbrio entre classes. Dentre as conclusÃes, o processo de convergÃncia entre as classes de municÃpios do estado do Cearà nÃo foi homogÃneo. Foi diagnosticado que as disparidades de bem estar entre grupos de municÃpios pobres e ricos continuam e tendem a se tornarem maiores com o tempo. Apesar de existir uma tendÃncia de aumento das diferenÃas entre os nÃveis de bem estar das classes de municÃpios, houve uma tÃmida reduÃÃo das classes mais âmiserÃveisâ. A velocidade do processo de convergÃncia para os grupos de municÃpios do estado do Ceara à muito lenta e heterogÃnea com formaÃÃo de clubes. / This paper has for objective analyze the hypothesis of convergence in welfare conditions indexes of the municipal districts of the state of Cearà and the dynamics of his growth in the period of 1991-2000. The applied methodology in this paper was the method of the transitions in Markov chains that is a process of estimate of the balance distributions among classes. Among the conclusions, the convergence process among the classes was not homogeneous. It was diagnosed that welfare disparities among groups of poor and rich municipal districts continue and they tend turn larger with the time. In spite of a tendency to increase the differences between classes, there was a shy reduction of the "most miserable" classes. The speed of the convergence process for the groups of districts is very slow and heterogeneous with formation of clubs.
