Previous issue date: 2009 / A presente dissertação de mestrado tem como tema a discussão dos desafios do ensino e aprendizagem do solfejo por meio do software Finale. Aqui relatamos as experiências e resultados de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no período 2007/2008, a partir das práticas em sala de aula, local no qual um software de editoração de partituras foi utilizado para fomentar, subsidiar e corroborar a aprendizagem do solfejo. Nesse ensejo, o texto procura mostrar que, diante da crise paradigmática em torno do ensino de tal habilidade, abrem-se novas perspectivas a partir da utilização de uma sala de aula não tradicional, na qual o instrumento de apoio ao aprendizado do solfejo não é mais um piano ou outro instrumento musical, mas o computador e o software de grafia musical Finale. Não se perde aqui o foco do objeto de aprendizagem, mas se preconiza a participação ativa do aluno que também cria seus exercícios de treinamento auditivo e treinamento emissivo no solfejo. Nessa perspectiva, realizou-se um estudo de caso com uma turma constituída por 7 alunos, pertencente ao 1 semestre de uma escola de música com viés profissionalizante. Nosso propósito foi compreender qual pode ser a contribuição desse tipo de software na aprendizagem do solfejo. Na primeira parte do texto, há uma introdução ao tema desenvolvido e à problemática de pesquisa que deu origem à investigação desenvolvida acompanhada pelo quadro teórico acerca do universo que caracteriza o uso da tecnologia de computadores em nossa vida cotidiana e na música. Há a conceituação de solfejo e uma breve introdução a respeito do uso de softwares no ensino de música. Numa segunda parte, apresenta-se a metodologia adotada para subsidiar a pesquisa e a descrição dos trabalhos realizados por parte dos alunos que participaram do projeto. A investigação foi de natureza qualitativa e, portanto, descritiva e interpretativa. Para isso, utilizamos como instrumentos de recolhimento de dados os diários de bordo e as entrevistas. Por fim, temos a discussão dos resultados alcançados e as possíveis conclusões. Com a análise dos dados, concluímos que a utilização do programa Finale contribuiu para a criação de um ambiente mais dinâmico e facilitador rumo à aprendizagem do solfejo. Pudemos perceber também nos alunos uma maior motivação, um maior estímulo para a realização dos exercícios propostos, o que resultou numa aprendizagem significativa. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present dissertation discusses the challenges of teaching and learning solmization by means of the software Finale. This work recounts some experiences and results of a research conducted during the years 2007 and 2008 as they happened in the classroom, where a computer software for editing scores was used to facilitate, embody and serve as tool for learning solmization. In that context, this text aims at showing that, given the paradigmatic crisis surrounding the ways of teaching such ability, new perspectives are unveiled by the use of a non-traditional learning environment in which the supporting tool for solmization is not a piano or other musical instrument, but the computer and music notation software Finale. Here the focus of the subject to be learned is not lost, but the active participation of the student is encouraged, who also creates his own exercises for auditory training as well as sight-singing. In this perspective, a case study was conducted with a class of seven students enrolled in the first semester of a music school for aspiring professionals. Our purpose was to understand what could be the possible contribution of this type of software in learning solmization. On the first part of the text, there is an introduction to the subject and the research problems that originated the investigation, as well as a theoretic background on the universe that characterizes the use of technology and computers in our everyday life and in music. There is the introduction of the concept of solmization and a brief word on the use of software in music teaching. The second part regards the methodology that was adopted and the description of participant students works. The investigation is of a qualitative nature and, therefore, is descriptive and interpretative. For that purpose, the tools for gathering data were students class logs and interviews. Finally, we have the discussion of results achieved and possible conclusions. With the data analysis, we reach the conclusion that the software Finale has contributed to a more dynamic environment that facilitates the road to learning solmization. We have also realized that students were more motivated and stimulated to do the proposed exercises, resulting in significant learning.
