Orientador: Antonio Carlos Carrera de Souza / Banca: Laurizete Ferragut Passos / Banca: Dario Fiorentini / Resumo: Este estudo teve por objetivo estabelecer relações entre o desempenho do aluno na Educação Profissional e os conhecimentos matemáticos por ele constituídos durante a Educação Básica. Participaram desta pesquisa doze alunos e cinco professores de uma escola técnica da rede particular de ensino e, tomando-se como base a literatura sobre Educação e Trabalho, foi realizada a análise dos dados coletados durante um ano de atividades destes alunos e professores. Nesta análise percebemos que os objetivos tanto do aluno como da educação estariam presentes nas respostas procuradas. Pôde-se concluir que a falta de conhecimentos matemáticos se reflete no perfil do técnico formado na Educação Profissional: uma formação fragmentada durante a Educação Básica acaba por propiciar uma formação técnica apenas parcial. / Abstract: The purpose of this study was to establish relations between the student's performance in the Professional Education and the mathematical knowledge acquired by him in the primary school. In this research participated twelve students and five teachers of a private technical school. Based on the literature about Education and Work, we carried out an analysis of the data collected during one year of students and teachers' activities. The result of this analysis was that both students and education goals were presented in the expected answers. The conclusion of this study is that the lack of mathematical knowledge can be seen in the technician skills after his Professional Education. The poor mathematical education provided in the primary school results in limited learning ability in the professional course. / Mestre
