O estudo apresentado nesta tese tem por foco registrar a memória de professoras/es que lecionaram em Presidente Prudente ou em cidades circunvizinhas entre as décadas de 1950 a 1970. Além de possibilitar a ampliação de estudos sobre a historiografia brasileira, no período citado, esta pesquisa também tem como objetivo, registrar as histórias dessas/or professoras/or no exercício de suas funções escolares e elaborar análise sobre a cultura escolar e suas particularidades, assim como demonstrar as influências deste tipo de cultura específico junto à coletividade em seu tempo e espaço. A História Cultural, a História Oral e os Estudos com Memória ofereceram respaldo teórico e metodológico para esta pesquisa. As entrevistas realizadas privilegiaram a História Oral Temática, pois embora houvesse interesse em saber e registrar a origem natural e social dos narradores, buscou-se dar maior ênfase às lembranças associadas à educação escolar. Foram produzidas narrativas de oito professoras/es. O estudo também se valeu de pesquisa documental tanto nos acervos pessoais dos entrevistados como no museu municipal de Presidente Prudente, além de intensa investigação bibliográfica. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: With exactly one hundred years of foundation, the city of Presidente Prudente, located in the extreme west of the state of São Paulo, already accumulates stories that if not (re) memorized, (re) constructed and registered run the risk of disappearing in time. The study presented by this thesis focuses the memory of teachers who taught in Presidente Prudente or in surrounding cities between the 1950s and 1970s. In addition, to allowing the expansion of studies on Brazilian historiography, in the period cited, this research also aims to record the stories of these teachers in the exercise of their school functions and to analyze the school culture and its particularities, as well as to demonstrate the influence of this type of specific culture on the community in its time and space. Cultural History, Oral History and Memory Studies offered theoretical and methodological support for this research. The interviews conducted privileged Oral Thematic Histor, because, although there was interest in knowing and recording the natural and social origin of the narrators, we sought to give greater emphasis to theachers memories associated with school education. Seven female teachers and one male teacher narratives were produced on the investigation process. The study also relied on documentary research both in the personal collections of the interviewees and in the municipal museum of Presidente Prudente, in addition to intense bibliographical research.
