The diploma thesis is focused on an analysis and on a comparison of a musical education in the Czech Republic and Austria. It deals with theoretical bases for the musical education, educational framework and its division. The thesis is aimed mainly at the analysis of the musical education in both countries. The various bases are furthermore compared. The practical part, which serves primarily for the Czech and Austrian teachers of music, reveals the different points of view on this issue. Moreover, it deals with the usage of aids, distinction of textbooks, and with common problems, that the teachers might come across.
