The health care sector is becoming more and more digital. Recent studies have shown that treatment with IT can be as effective as other traditional treatments at a lower cost. Therefore eHealth have emerged as a new area where innovation needs to take place to decrease the healthcare cost. To be able to succeed with these innovations there is a recommendation from the Swedish government to use open innovation. Based on this there is a variety of national actors who wants to stimulate and accelerate innovation in eHealth in an open innovation manner. Therefore we have studied four different eHealth projects to form a better understanding of how open innovation is applied in the innovationprocess and how the national actors affects this process. Our findings show that the innovationsprocess in eHealth projects are using external knowledge to accelerate their internal innovation. We have also found that the external knowledge that are integrated in the innovationsprocess is not used for organizational processinnovation. Lastly our studie shows that the national actors have no impact on the innovationprocess.
