Orientador: Sílvia Regina Ricco Lucato Sigolo / Banca: Maria Regina Guarnieri / Banca: Cláudia Maria Simões Martinez / Resumo: A presente pesquisa, fundamentada na perspectiva bioecológica de desenvolvimento humano, tem como objetivo geral identificar, a partir do resgate parcial sobre a história de vida familiar e escolar de crianças que freqüentam, no momento do estudo, a 4ª série do Ensino Fundamental, os recursos e as condições adversas relacionadas ao desempenho acadêmico diferenciados em alto e baixo rendimento. Para tanto, buscou-se a identificação dos recursos e das condições adversas na história de escolarização das crianças mediante entrevistas semi-estruturadas com professoras, pais e crianças. Com as professoras, desenvolveu-se um protocolo de análise do roteiro de entrevista dividido em blocos temáticos. Tais blocos são subdivididos em categorias que buscaram respaldo na literatura especializada em ambiente escolar e nos relatos advindos das professoras. Com os pais procurou-se investigar o contexto familiar por meio do RAF (Inventário dos Recursos do Ambiente Familiar), do EEA (Escala de Eventos Ambientais Adversos) e de entrevistas com roteiro semi-estruturado. Com as crianças, além das entrevistas, das sessões lúdicas e das análises dos seus registros acadêmicos arquivados na escola, foi realizada uma avaliação mediante o TDE (Teste de Desempenho Escolar). Participaram da pesquisa quatorze crianças de 4ª série do Ensino Fundamental da rede pública de uma escola situada no interior do Estado de São Paulo, divididas em dois grupos: alto e baixo rendimento escolar (AR e BR); suas respectivas famílias e duas professoras que lecionaram para tais crianças na série citada acima. Os resultados indicaram que as professoras possuem críticas quanto ao processo de Progressão Continuada, quanto aos meios de implantação e as desvantagens que podem acarretar para o rendimento acadêmico do aluno. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Based on the bioecological perspective of human development, the general objective of this research is to identify the resources and the adverse conditions related to high and low achievement in academic performance. This study began with the partial ransom on the familiar scholastic history of children attending the 4th grade of Elementary School by the time of the study. Semi- structured interviews with teachers, parents and children identified resources and adverse conditions in the school history of these children. An analysis protocol of the interviews' guideline, divided into thematic parts, was developed with the teachers. These parts are divided into sub-categories which looked for back-up in specific literature on school environment and in the teachers' reports. The familiar context was looked into by RAF, EEA and interviews with semi-structured guideline with the parents. Interviews, play sessions, analysis of the academic register in the school files and evaluation by means of TDE were accomplished with the children. Fourteen children from the 4th grade of Elementary School of a public school in São Paulo State, divided into high and low achievement students (AR and BR); their families and teachers participated in the research. The results indicated that the teachers have constraints on Continuous Progression proccess, related to the method of its introducing and to likely disadvantages for the childþs academic accomplishment. They believe that school success is directly related with family attendence in the childþs school life and with the childþs interest. School failure is mostly associated with external factors to the classroom, such as educational practices of previous series, studentsþ own inabilities, parents'unfavorable socioeconomic conditions, little incentive and scarce participation of the family...
