Para tanto, apresentou-se um estudo de caso a partir de dados coletados em um curso de extensão, ministrado na modalidade semipresencial na UNESP /Araraquara. Para uma melhor organização, o trabalho foi dividido em três olhares: o primeiro olhar diz respeito aos pressupostos teóricos para caracterização do fórum de discussão. As noções bakhtinianas de constituição dos gêneros – conteúdo temático, estilo, construção composicional; as contribuições de Marcuschi (2008) ao tratar os fóruns virtuais como gêneros emergentes, sugerindo várias comparações entre eles, e as atribuições do gênero como um instrumento educacional, segundo Shneuwly e Dolz (2004), foram os trabalhos que nortearam este estudo de acordo com a natureza desse gênero; um segundo olhar se dedicou às teorias educacionais. Além de procurar compreender a situação atual da educação a distância no Brasil, lançou-se mão da teoria desenvolvida por R. Garrison (2000) (cujos pressupostos se basearam na obra de Vygotsky) sobre as Comunidades de Investigação e as presenças social, cognitiva e de ensino, existentes nessas comunidades de acordo com os autores. E, para analisar as questões referentes ao uso da linguagem foram utilizados os pressupostos de Eggins & Slade (1997), que dialogam com a teoria de Garrison em busca de respostas para a questão das marcas de interatividade nos fóruns. Em relação às características do fórum virtual no Moodle, percebeu-se que há a disposição vários recursos e tipos de fóruns que podem ser utilizados na elaboração de diferentes atividades, constituindo-se... / This study aimed to reflection on the characteristics of on-line discussion forums in an AVA and its use as a tool thal will contribute to the reflective process of teaching and learning. So, presented a case study from data collected in an Extension Course taught in blended mode at UNESP/ Araraquara. The work was divided in three approaches for the better organization: the first with respect to theoretical assumptions to characterize the discussion forum. The notions of gender showed by Bakhtin – thematic content, style, compositional construction; the contributions of Marcuschi (2008) to considering on-line forums as an emergent categorie of the gender, suggesting several comparisons between them, and the functions of the gender as an educational tool by Schneuwly and Dolz (2004) were the work that guided this study according to the nature of this gender. The second is devoted to the educational theories. Besides trying to understand the current situation of distance education in Brazil itself employed the theory developed by Garrison (2000), (whose assumptions were based on Vygotsky‘s work), on the inquiry communities and social presence, cognitive presence and teaching presence within those communities, according to the authors. And, to examine questions concerning the use of language were used assumptions Eggins & Slade (1997) that together with the theory of Garrison, looks for answers to the question about marks of interactivity in the forums. As for the characteristics of the virtual forum in Moodle, it was observed that there is available resources and various kinds of forums that can be used in the preparation of different activities, establishing itself as a very effective tool in training courses aimed at the reflection, and through it, teachers and students register and track their process...
