Previous issue date: 2006-06-12 / Este trabalho tem como propósito investigar acerca do espaço da Fazenda
Itamatamirim localizada à cidade de Vitória de Santo Antão - PE e suas
possibilidades de ampliação da oferta turística, através do uso de uma pedreira
desativada para a prática de esportes de aventura, buscando ressaltar suas
potencialidades aos gestores públicos enquanto produto para o município, na
perspectiva da geração de renda aos residentes locais. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida,
predominantemente, a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa aliada a técnicas de
observação participante a partir da pesquisa de campo realizada na fazenda: Os
dados coletados foram tratados de forma descritiva, levando em consideração no
momento da análise, as informações que ilustram o observado em campo. Foram
questionados, no interior da fazenda, visitantes, residentes e proprietários. No
contexto do município de Vitória de Santo Antão foram entrevistados os gestores das
Secretarias de Educação e Turismo. As bases teóricas fundamentam-se no turismo
no espaço rural, que trata da totalidade das manifestações turísticas inseridas nesse
meio. Assim como no desenvolvimento local sustentável, que refere-se à
possibilidade da implementação de uma atividade que possa aliar uma nova forma
de geração de renda aos residentes através da utilização racional dos recursos
naturais. Propõe-se, também, sugerir instrumentos de gestão ambiental, que possam
auxiliar os proprietários da fazenda a administrarem as relações entre as atividades
ali desenvolvidas. Este trabalho possibilitou, acima de tudo, a sinergia entre o
espaço rural, os gestores públicos e a iniciativa privada na busca de ações positivas
visando à melhoria da qualidade de vida dos residentes locais; como a possibilidade
da ampliação da atividade turística no município. O que nos leva a acreditar na forte
tendência do turismo no espaço rural ser implementado com sucesso na Fazenda
Itamatamirim e em outros espaços rurais localizados no município de Vitória de
Santo Antão. / This work has the subject of investigating the space of the Itamatamirim Farm
located in the city of Vitória de Santo Antão-PE, and its possibilities of magnifying of
the tourist offer, through the use of a quarry disactivated for the practicel of adventure
sports, searching to stand out its potentialities to the public managers while product for
the city, in the perspective of the generation of income to the local residents. The
research was developed, predominantly, from an allied qualitative boarding the
techniques of participant comment from the research of field carried through in the
farm. The collected data had been dealt with descriptive form, leading in consideration
at the moment of the analysis, the information that illustrates what was observed in the
field. In the interior of the farm the visitors had been questioned, the residents and the
proprietors, in the context of the city of Vitória de Santo Antão the managers of the
Secretariats of Education and Tourism had been interviewed. The theoretical bases
are based on the tourism in the agricultural space, that deals with the totality of the
inserted tourist manifestations in the agricultural way, as well as sustainable local
development, that mentions the possibility to it of the implementation of an activity that
can unite a new form of generation of income to the residents through the rational use
of the natural resources. It is also considered to suggest instruments of ambient
management that can assist the proprietors of the farm to manage the relations
between the activities developed there. This work made possible, above of everything,
the public sinergia between the agricultural space, managers and the private initiative,
in the search of positive actions aiming at the improvement of the quality of life of the
local residents, as well as the possibility of the magnifying of the tourist activity in the
city, what in it takes them to believe in the strong trend of the tourism in the agricultural
space, to be implemented successfully in the Itamatamirim Farm and other located
agricultural spaces in the city of Vitória de Santo Antão.
