La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal identificar la relación y/o
influencia del modelo educativo especializado del COAR con el rendimiento
académico universitario de los alumnos que egresaron en los años 2012 y 2013
del COAR – Lima. Para ello, analizamos la propuesta del modelo educativo y la
valoración que tienen los estudiantes de la misma, a fin de replicar las acciones
que permitan el desarrollo óptimo de las competencias académicas y personales
de los alumnos para cumplir, de esta manera, con los objetivos propuestos por
el MINEDU.
Los COAR son colegios públicos que ofrecen un servicio educativo con
altos estándares de calidad nacional e internacional, lo cual permite fortalecer el
potencial académico, artístico y deportivo de los estudiantes de alto desempeño.
La implementación de los COAR es una responsabilidad compartida entre el
Ministerio de Educación (MINEDU) y los Gobiernos Regionales (GORE). El
MINEDU diseña el modelo y el GORE solicita la implementación de un COAR,
previa etapa de difusión y sensibilización, para lo cual se firma un convenio de
cooperación interinstitucional.
La presente investigación busca responder varias interrogantes en
relación a a) la identificación y descripción de los conocimientos que tienen los
egresados sobre los componentes del modelo del servicio educativo
especializado que brinda el COAR – Lima; b)el conocimiento y análisis de la
valoración y opinión de los alumnos respecto al modelo de servicio educativo
especializado que brinda el COAR y su relación con el rendimiento académico;
c)la identificación y descripción de los hábitos y/o técnicas de estudio que los
alumnos aprendieron en el COAR y la aplicación de las mismas en la universidad;
y d)el conocimiento y descripción de las motivaciones que conllevan a los
alumnos a continuar sus estudios en el nivel universitario.
Siguiendo estos objetivos, establecimos una investigación de tipo
exploratoria, puesto que no existen investigaciones previas a la nuestra que nos
permitan establecer la relación y/o influencia del modelo educativo que brinda el
COAR con el rendimiento académico universitario de los alumnos egresados.
Estos resultados permitirán obtener propuestas que contribuyan a fortalecer y/o
implementar mejoras en el accionar del MINEDU.
La presente tesis se ha desarrollado en base a la estrategia metodológica cualitativa, puesto que nuestra principal fuente de información primaria son las
entrevistas en profundidad, realizada a los principales actores.
Los principales hallazgos son los siguientes: a) los alumnos egresados
del COAR - Lima recuerdan con claridad los componentes que conforman el
modelo educativo del COAR; b) existe una relación directa entre lo que los
alumnos conocen, valoran y utilizan de cada uno de los componentes que
conforman el modelo educativo del COAR, y su rendimiento académico
universitario; c) los alumnos egresados del COAR – Lima, han adquirido y
practican actualmente hábitos y/o técnicas de estudio adecuados que les han
permitido mejorar su rendimiento académico universitario; d) las principales
fortalezas de los alumnos egresados son la responsabilidad, el compromiso y los
deseos de superación que les permiten cumplir sus metas establecidas. Todo
ello permite concluir que el modelo educativo del COAR influye en el rendimiento
académico universitario de los alumnos que egresan de dicha institución.
Finalmente, la presente investigación sugiere el fortalecimiento de los
diversos componentes que conforman el modelo educativo del COAR y el
desarrollo constante de las capacidades en los diferentes roles del personal
docente y administrativo. Para ello se proponen políticas que permitan alcanzar
un desarrollo eficaz y sostenible de los colegios de alto rendimiento. / The main objective of this research is to identify the relationship and / or influence
of the COAR specialized educational model with the university academic
performance of the students who graduated in 2012 and 2013 from COAR - Lima,
analyzing the proposal of the educational model and the evaluation that the
students of the same have, in order to replicate the actions that allow the optimal
development of the academic and personal abilities of the students, fulfilling in this
way the objectives proposed by the MINEDU.
The COARs are public schools that offer an educational service with high
national and international quality standards that allows strengthening the
academic, artistic and sports potential of high performance students. The
implementation of the COAR is a responsibility shared between the Ministry of
Education (MINEDU) and the Regional Governments (GORE). The MINEDU
designs the model and the GORE requests the implementation of a COAR, prior
stage of dissemination and awareness, for which an inter-institutional cooperation
agreement is signed.
The development of the research seeks answers to several questions
regarding the identification and description of the knowledge that graduates have
about the components that make up the model of the specialized educational
service provided by COAR-Lima; the knowledge and analysis of the assessment
and opinion of the students regarding the model of specialized educational service
offered by the COAR and its relationship with academic performance; the
identification and description of the habits and / or study techniques that the
students learned at the COAR and the application of them in the university; as well
as the knowledge and description of the motivations that lead the students to
continue their studies at the university level.
Following these objectives, we established an exploratory type of research,
since there are no previous investigations that allow us to establish the relationship
and / or influence of the educational model provided by the COAR with the
university academic performance of the graduates. These results will allow
obtaining proposals that contribute to strengthen and / or implement improvements
in the actions of the MINEDU.
The present thesis has been developed based on the qualitative methodological strategy. Since our main source of primary information are in-depth
interviews, conducted to the main actors.
The main findings are the following: a) The alumni of the COAR-Lima
clearly remember the components that make up the COAR educational model, b)
There is a direct relationship between what the students know, value and use of
each of the components that make up the educational model of the COAR, and
their university academic performance c) The students graduated from the COAR
- Lima, have acquired and currently practice habits and / or appropriate study
techniques that have allowed them to improve their university academic
performance, d) The main strengths of the graduates are the responsibility,
commitment and desire to excel that allow them to meet their established goals.
All this makes it possible to conclude that the educational model of the COAR
influences the university academic performance of the students who graduate from
said institution.
Finally, the present research suggests the strengthening of the various
components that make up the COAR educational model and the constant
development of the capacities in the different roles of teaching and administrative
staff, proposing policies that allow achieving an effective and sustainable
development of high performance schools. / Tesis
