nÃo hà / A extensÃo universitÃria tem papel fundamental na formaÃÃo plena dos estudantes em face da capacidade que ela tem de retroalimentar o ensino e a pesquisa. Por meio dela a Universidade pode levar o conhecimento que està sendo produzido em suas pesquisas para a sociedade. Tais aÃÃes quando aplicadas por uma universidade que està inserida no SemiÃrido, trazem em si a possibilidade de transformar a realidade desse lugar e contribuir para o seu desenvolvimento, nÃo sà na formaÃÃo de pesquisadores, professores e tÃcnicos para atuar na regiÃo, como tambÃm influenciando diretamente nos aspectos socioculturais do territÃrio no qual se insere. O Instituto de Estudos do SemiÃrido (IESA), uma unidade acadÃmica da Universidade Federal do Cariri (UFCA), localizado no Campus IcÃ, desenvolve atividades que buscam pesquisar e conhecer melhor as dinÃmicas do semiÃrido e privilegiando a atuaÃÃo social na busca de um desenvolvimento sustentÃvel. O objetivo deste estudo à compreender as percepÃÃes e as representaÃÃes geradas pela implantaÃÃo de um campus universitÃrio em uma cidade do semiÃrido nordestino por meio dos Projetos de ExtensÃo desenvolvidos no Ãmbito da Universidade.Para tanto foram realizadas entrevistas com os estudantes extensionistas, utilizando tÃcnicas de AnÃlise do Discurso para apreender os sentidos que a ExtensÃo assume nas falas dos entrevistados. Por fim, utilizando conceitos como o de Cultura Organizacional de Schein e o Paradigma da Complexidade, presente nas obras de Morin, apresentar os pontos em que a extensÃo universitÃria e seus impactos internos e externos à instituiÃÃo contribuem para a construÃÃo de uma Universidade Sertaneja em IcÃ. Desse modo essa pesquisa trarà contribuiÃÃes Ãs discussÃes sobre a AvaliaÃÃo de PolÃticas PÃblicas de Ensino Superior, por meio da abordagem da ExtensÃo UniversitÃria, e sobre o carÃter da expansÃo do Ensino Superior para o sertÃo nordestino. / The university extension plays a key role in the full training of students in the face of capacity it has to feedback the teaching and research. Through it the University can take the knowledge that is being produced in their research to society. Such actions when applied by a university that is part of the semiarid region, bringing with it the possibility of transforming the reality of this place and contribute to its development, not only in the training of researchers, teachers and technicians to work in the region, as well as directly influencing the socio-cultural aspects of the territory in which it operates. The Instituto de Estudos do SemiÃrido (IESA), an academic unit of the Universidade Federal do Cariri (UFCA) located in the Campus IcÃ, develops activities that seek to research and better understand semiarid dynamics and focus on social action in the pursuit of sustainable development . The aim of this study is to understand the perceptions and representations generated by the implementation of a university campus in a city of the northeastern semiarid region through the extension projects developed with in the University. Therefore interviews were conducted with the extension students using discourse analysis techniques to grasp the sense that the extension takes in the statements of the respondents. Finally, using concepts such as Schein Organizational Culture and the Paradigm of Complexity present in the works of Morin, present the points where the university extension and its internal and external impacts to the institution contribute to the construction of a Country University in Icà .Thus this research will bring contributions to the discussion on the Public Policy Evaluation of Higher Education, through the approach of University Extension, and the character of the expansion of higher education to the northeastern backlands.
