space, the role ideological hub of activities, shopping and services in South East Eastern Amazon. Therefore, the research was directed to a historical study of the formation of socio region. Social and economic processes were taken as support for the analysis of training space. The frame and the network nodes were seen on a scale according to different historical periods of the brazilian s economy. In this research was understood that the urban network and integration is a reflection, then, starting from the past, as the choice that capitalism makes of particular places and regions, gives the cities a position of hierarchy and a functional specialization. But, can also be understood as a condition. This way, is through it that allows the production and getting of surpluses in several different areas, the movement of value and
consumption of goods. The duality of the regional economy helped in understanding of Palmas construction. A city with economical and politicize goals that broked the power of
agrarian elites and, later, became the reference point of these elites. Palmas was a new network regional organization. Changed the city, drawing to itself, the development of thestate of Tocantins, and changing the logic direction of many cities. The role of a great city that Palmas was/is in the region, even without being, justifies large investments in infrastructure. This way, some points have been treated in this work which is divided into three chapters and has the city of Palmas as a purpose of study / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o papel de Palmas na rede urbana e de integração regional através de leitura sobre sua infraestrutura e produção simbólica de seu
espaço urbano, no papel concentrador das atividades comerciais e de serviços no Sudeste da Amazônia Oriental. Para tanto, a pesquisa foi direcionada para um estudo histórico da formação socioespacial da região. Os processos econômicos e sociais foram tomados como sustentação para a análise da formação espacial. As tramas e os nós da rede foram entendidos em uma escala histórica relacionando aos vários períodos da economia brasileira. Entendeu-se
nesta pesquisa que a rede urbana e de integração é um reflexo, pois, a partir das cristalizações oriundas do capital, que ao se desenvolver gerou hierarquias entre as cidades e uma especialização funcional. Neste norte, é através dela que se viabiliza a produção e apropriação dos diversos excedentes em diferentes áreas, a circulação e o consumo de mercadorias. A dualidade da economia regional auxiliou no entendimento da construção de Palmas. Uma cidade criada por interesse econômico e político que rompeu o poder das elites agrárias e, posteriormente, tornou-se o ponto de referência dessas elites. Palmas representou uma nova
organização regional. Alterou a rede urbana, polarizando o desenvolvimento do estado do Tocantins e mudando a lógica de orientação de muitas cidades. O papel de uma grande
cidade que Palmas exerce na região, mesmo sem ser, justifica grandes investimentos em infraestrutura. Neste norte, alguns pontos foram tratados neste trabalho que está dividido em
três capítulos e tem a cidade de Palmas como objetivo do estudo
