social. A abertura de novos caminhos representa o desenvolvimento de regiões interiorizadas
e a conexão com as áreas urbanas, levando, muitas vezes, ao aumento das desigualdades e
degradação dos recursos ambientais no entorno. Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar as
características da paisagem em diferentes distâncias das rodovias Tamoios (SP-099) e Oswaldo
Cruz (SP-125), ambas no Estado de São Paulo. Pretendeu-se avaliar, em especial, o uso do solo
dentro e fora das unidades de conservação presentes na área de estudo e fazer uma breve
discussão sobre a legislação municipal vigente diante da influência das rodovias e da presença das unidades de conservação. As análises foram realizadas inicialmente por meio da
elaboração de um mapa de uso e cobertura do solo proveniente de dois mapas já existentes e
a sobreposição de buffers de 1 km ao redor dessas duas rodovias. Para a área da Rodovia SP-
099, foi observada forte correlação positiva na dinâmica da classe de cobertura vegetal com a
distância e uma redução na área construída nas longas distâncias. O observado para a Rodovia SP-125, é de que a cobertura vegetal se manteve mais constante ao longo das distâncias, muito provável, pela área de proteção ser maior na presença das UCs, embora essa última rodovia possua menor área de UCs, em relação a SP-099. Em conclusão, este trabalho mostra como as estradas afetam a ocupação humana trazendo mais acesso no território e como as leis ambientais podem reduzir esse efeito. / Roads are crucial for land use, economic development and social welfare. The opening of new
paths represents the development of internalized regions and the connection with urban
areas, often leading to increased inequalities and degradation of environmental resources in
the environment. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of road distance in relation to
use and land cover of the Tamoios (SP-099) and Oswaldo Cruz (SP-125) highways, both in the
State of São Paulo, and how the proximity to these highways affects the land use and
occupation characteristics , the type of vegetation cover and the dynamics of human
occupation. It was intended to evaluate, in particular, the use of land cover inside and outside the conservation units present in the study area and to make a brief discussion about the current municipal legislation in a view of the influence of the highways and the presence of conservation units. The analyzes were carried out initially through the elaboration of a land cover and use map from two existing maps and the overlap of 1 km buffers around these two highways. For the SP-099 highway area, a strong positive correlation was observed in the
dynamics of the vegetation cover class with the distance and a reduction in the area built over
the long distances. The observed for SP-125 Highway is that the vegetation cover remained
more constant along the distances, most likely, because the protection area is larger in the
presence of the UCs, although this last highway has a smaller area of UCs, in relation to SP-
099. In conclusion, this paper shows how roads affect human occupation by bringing more
access into the territory and how environmental laws can reduce this effect.
