Department: Department of systematic Theology and Philosophy Abstract The goal of this thesis is to introduce Augustine's concept of religious life and to highlight the originality of this concept in the context of the existing monasticism and of the culture, in which Augustine lived. Furthermore, the thesis aims to present the current state of research of Augustine's rule and to illustrate the value of the rule for today's spiritual life on the basis of selected topics.
