Abstract: Two settlements or one? Väster- and Österhaninge in the middle iron age. The purpose of this essay is a deeper understanding of the middle iron age in Öster- and Västerhaninge. The study focuses on an analysis of the place names and hillforts in the area. The main question is to investigate if the division of Haninge in Öster- and Västerhaninge exists during the middle iron age. To understand the middle iron age society, and the purpose of the hillforts, the study analyses the structure of the society through mythical and cosmological aspects.
