Rozdělení Československa skrze pohledy obyvatel z příhraničních oblastí - Zlínský kraj vs. Trenčínský kraj / The Division of Czechoslovakia - Views of People from the Border Area - the Zlín Region versus the Trenčín Region

The first, theoretic, part of my thesis is based on the historical analysis of mutual relationships of Czech and Slovak people in the common country up to the year of 1992. The thesis also takes into consideration the outcomes of recent researches in fields of political sciences, sociology and other social disciplines to produce the most accurate description of the situation that preceded the break-up of 1992/1993 itself. The second, research, part of my thesis is effected by the method of oral history. Its aim is to investigate the opinions, views and experiences of various Czech and Slovak border citizens in the first half of the 90's in view of both the political development during dividing the Federation and the impact of the break-up on their daily lives - a new state line in proximity of their homes, establishment of border crossings and customs, changes in shopping habits, problems connected with work on the other side of the border line, visiting friends or organizing common events, school trips and the newly introduced problematics of people smuggling. It also aims to reflect the possible change of mind of some people toward the division.
