The German minority school problem in Hungary, 1918-1938.

The present work is concerned with the educational system of the Swabian minority in Hungary. It wishes to indicate the expedient methods used by the Hungarian regimes to bring about the Magyarisation of the German minority. At the same time, it also wishes to demonstrate the existence of an ambiguous relationship between the Swabian minority school policy in Hungary and Hungarian-German relations, set against the background of opportunistic Hungarian diplomacy, which manifested itself both internally and externally.
