La presente investigación aborda, mediante la etnografía audiovisual, el
abordaje intermedial y el lenguaje audiovisual, las interpretaciones sobre las
imágenes de José Gabriel Condorcanqui ubicadas en el distrito limeño de
Comas, que realizan diferentes sujetos vinculados a tales íconos a través de
diferentes circunstancias. Estas interpretaciones recorren sus historias
personales, familiares y colectivas como historias de migración, liberación,
resistencia, independencia y dignidad, a partir de lo que definimos como
representaciones populares contemporáneas. El estudio tiene como marco la
conflictividad, omisiones y ausencias en la representaciones visuales coloniales
y republicanas sobre el indio y sobre Túpac Amaru II, el líder indígena que se
sublevó contra el poder colonial en el siglo XVIII, durante el Virreinato peruano.
Si bien el ícono sobre el rebelde cusqueño fue promovido durante el gobierno
de Velasco Alvarado (1968-1975) como elemento de propaganda
gubernamental, teniendo desde entonces una continuidad en su producción
visual desde los círculos oficiales del arte y desde diversos gremios y colectivos
latinoamericanos e incluso como material educativo; sin embargo en el
presente trabajo, se abordan las perspectivas actuales de pobladores de Lima,
recogiendo las versiones de migrantes e hijos de éstos que habitan un espacio
urbano de la capital peruana identificado mediante las categorías de barriada,
invasión, asentamiento humano, cono y hoy denominado como Lima norte,
términos que le dan la condición de urbe periférica producto de la autogestión y
la no planificación urbana de la capital. De esta manera, se construye un
campo desde los archivos y material bibliográfico para tentar una genealogía
de las visualidades sobre lo indígena, que a su vez se convierte en el contexto
para las investigaciones de campo desarrolladas en el distrito, que pueden
establecer un acercamiento sobre las interpretaciones sobre las tres imágenes
de Túpac Amaru II instaladas en Comas. / This research addresses, through audiovisual ethnography, the intermedial
approach and audiovisual language, the interpretations of the images of José
Gabriel Condorcanqui located in the Comas district of Lima, which are carried
out by different subjects linked to such icons through different circumstances.
These interpretations go through their personal, family and collective stories as
stories of migration, liberation, resistance, independence and dignity, based on
what we define as contemporary popular representations. The framework of the
study is the conflict, omissions and absences in the colonial and republican
visual representations about the Indian and Túpac Amaru II, the indigenous
leader who revolted against the colonial power in the 18th century, during the
Peruvian Viceroyalty. Although the icon of the rebel from Cusco was promoted
during the government of Velasco Alvarado (1968-1975) as an element of
government propaganda, since then it has had continuity in its visual production
from official art circles and from various Latin American and Latin American
guilds and collectives. including as educational material; However, in the

give it the status of a peripheral city as a result of self-management and nonurban
planning of the capital. In this way, a field is built from the archives and
bibliographical material to attempt a genealogy of the visualities about the
indigenous, which in turn becomes the context for the field research carried out
in the district, which can establish an approach on interpretations of the three
images of Túpac Amaru II installed in Comas.
