Assim resulta a conclusão da tese que ora se apresenta, resultado de uma investigação ao longo da História, que percorreu a civilização ocidental desde o contexto que se convencionou chamar Antigüidade até os dias atuais. Para tanto, partiu-se de uma leitura das imagens visuais construídas em diferentes períodos históricos, refletindo-as à luz dos contextos político, religioso, social, econômico, cultural e ideológico. Carregadas de simbologia e fundadas em conceitos estéticos diversos, sem, contudo, deixarem de compartilhar as relações de poder, mormente com a ideologia dominante, as imagens visuais, artísticas ou não, desde sempre dão mostra de que se essa produção humana não se dá por mero reflexo desses poderes, não deixa, contudo, deles se apartar. Ou seja, por meio de uma leitura dialética constatou-se que, assim como o mito representado no humano pelos gregos, santos, reis, batalhas, retratos, enfim, imagens espalhadas e hoje expostas em museus, acervos particulares e igrejas, dentre outros, representativas de períodos históricos distintos, serviram e ainda servem à propagação da ideologia dominante. Assim como também não se exclui, dessa abordagem, a arte e a produção de imagens na contemporaneidade que, embora de forma mais complexa, acaba sendo absorvida e/ou definida pela classe dominante, quer em forma de investimento, quer por meio da produção e comercialização de objetos kitsch (padronização do gosto), quer por meio da quase exclusividade sobre o aparato cultural/social que determina o valor da obra, do produto e, em conseqüência, do produtor.
Image and power: two distinct phenomena that to melt when destined to the ideological reproduction. Thus results the conclusion of the thesis that however if presents, result of an inquiry throughout the History, that covered the western civilization since the context that if stipulated to call ancient times until the current days. For this, it was broken of a reading of the constructed visual images in different historical periods, reflecting them to the light of the religious, social, economic, cultural and ideological politician contexts. Weighed down of symbology and established in various aesthetic concepts, without, however, to leave to share with the relations of power, mainly with the dominant ideology, the visual images, artistic or not, since always to set an example that if this human production if do not give for mere reflex of these powers, does not leave, however, of them if to separate. In other words, through the reading dialectic checked that, as well as the myth represented in the human for the Greeks, saints, kings, battles, pictures, at last, images scattered and today displayed in museums, particular collections, churches, among others, representative of distinct historical periods, served and still serve to the reproduction of the dominant ideology. As well as also if it does not exclude, of this boarding, the art and the production of images in the present that, even so of more complex form, become being absorbed and/or definite for the dominant class, whether in form of investment, whether by means of the production and commercialization of objects kitsch (standardization of the taste), whether by means of the almost exclusiveness on the cultural/social apparatus that determines the value of the work, of the product and, in consequence, of the producer.
