Previous issue date: 2011-02-25 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / The need to become energy self-sufficient a country with which Brazil has sought renewable
energy sources due to the possibility of depletion of oil in coming decades. This paper will
examine the perspective of social inclusion the latest energy plan developed by the Federal
Government: the National Program of Biodiesel Production and Use - PNPB. It aims to find
out whether that work with family farmers who participated in the PNPB socially included
and what limits its inclusion. Secondly, the objective is to analyze the Brazilian biodiesel
production and its uses. The methodology used for the preparation of this study was to
examine the literature, visits to the study area, conducting interviews with the leadership of
the settlement, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with families producing
sunflower. Finally, the research dealt with the statistical data. After analyzing the data was
verified that the instrument PNPB is able to promote the social inclusion of family farmers,
but this occurred in the initial stages because the families involved need a minimum
framework of organization and infrastructure to develop activities related to biodiesel / A necessidade de se tornar um pa?s autosuficiente energeticamente fez com que o Brasil
buscasse fontes de energia renov?veis, em face da possibilidade de esgotamento do petr?leo
nas pr?ximas d?cadas. O presente trabalho vai analisar sob a ?tica da inclus?o social o
programa energ?tico mais recente desenvolvido pelo Governo Federal: o Programa Nacional
de Produ??o e Uso de Biodiesel PNPB. Objetiva-se com esse trabalho descobrir se os
agricultores familiares do Assentamento de Canudos que participaram do PNPB foram
inclu?dos socialmente e quais os limites dessa inclus?o. Secundariamente, objetiva-se analisar
a produ??o brasileira de biodiesel e suas utiliza??es. A metodologia utilizada para elabora??o
do presente trabalho foi o exame da literatura, visitas a ?rea de estudo, realiza??o de
entrevistas com a lideran?a do assentamento, aplica??o de question?rios e entrevistas semiestruturadas
com as fam?lias produtoras de girassol. Por ?ltimo a pesquisa tratou
estatisticamente os dados obtidos. Ap?s an?lise dos dados foi verificado que o PNPB ?
instrumento capaz de promover a inclus?o social dos agricultores familiares, mas essa ocorreu
de modo incipiente, pois as fam?lias envolvidas precisam de uma estrutura m?nima de
organiza??o e infraestrutura para desenvolver as atividades relacionadas ao biodiesel
