Previous issue date: 2006 / Mestrado Profissional em Enfermagem Assistencial / O estudo trata do conjunto das ações do cuidado de enfermagem na terapia intensiva na percepção do enfermeiro. O enfoque na afetividade do cuidado torna-se importante a partir do momento em que o aumento da tecnologia, a ultra especialização, as rotinas burocráticas e os recursos humanos ineficientes podem favorecer o enfermeiro a ter dificuldades no manejo dos aspectos relacionais e emocionais no processo de cuidar. Os objetivos foram: identificar os modos de cuidar que o enfermeiro presta na assistência ao cliente na terapia intensiva, descrever aspectos expressivos na percepção dos enfermeiros durante as ações do cuidado e analisar os conteúdos emergidos numa perspectiva que relaciona cuidado do enfermeiro com o cuidado sensível. A pesquisa foi qualitativa, descritiva e do tipo estudo de caso, subsidiada por técnicas de observação participante e de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os resultados foram agrupados e submetidos à análise temática, emergindo três categorias: percepção de si, a relação no processo de cuidado e ações de cuidado. Os aspectos técnico-científicos, as rotinas e as exigências formais da instituição são valorizados no trabalho em UTI, tendo, portanto, maior visibilidade. Entretanto, a subjetividade, a relação velada de poder, as dificuldades de relacionamento, o impacto gerado pelas condições de trabalho e as implicações psicoafetivas no cuidado vieram à tona nesse processo de cuidar e precisam ser trabalhadas no ensino e na assistência de enfermagem. É importante que a afetividade acompanhe a efetividade no processo de cuidar, envolvendo os agentes que cuidam e os clientes que são cuidados. Torna-se necessário dar maior valor a vida e ao resgate do sujeito humano de modo criativo e sensível diante do sistema produtivo / The study refers to the set of actions of nursing care in the intensive care unit, by the perception of the nurse. The focus on the affectivity of care becomes important from the moment when the increase of technology, the technical-scientific specialization of the nurse, the bureaucratic routines and inefficient human resources, can expose the nurse to find difficulties in the handling of the relationary and emotional aspects in the process of care taking in intensive care. The objectives were: identify the ways of care taking that the nurse renders in the assistance to the customer in the intensive care; describe the expressive aspects, by the perception of the nurses, during the actions of the care; analyze the contents emerged in a perspective that relates care of the nurse to the sensible care. The research was qualitative, descriptive and a case study type, based on techniques of participant observation and semi-structured interviews. The results were grouped and submitted to thematic analysis, emerging three categories: perception of him/herself, the relation in the care process and action of care. The technical-scientific aspects, the routines and the formal requirements of the institution are valued in the ICU work, having, therefore, greater visibility in this territory. However, the subjective aspects, the veiled relation of the power, the difficulties of relationship, the impact generated for the work conditions and the psycho-affective implications in the care, are not duly valorized by us, in our daily work.
