Previous issue date: 2017-04-26 / CAPES / A presente pesquisa busca descrever e compreender a educação profissional no campo, baseando-se na proposta de formação do Serta (Serviço de Tecnologia Alternativa) e no processo de aprendizado dos jovens agricultores inseridos no Curso Técnico de Agroecologia dessa mesma instituição. O Serta desenvolve atividades com jovens agricultores familiares, agentes de desenvolvimento local e de agroecologia. Para entender o objeto de estudo aqui proposto, lançou-se mão de algumas categorias analíticas discutidas a partir de um arcabouço teórico, acerca das noções do rural; juventude e juventude rural; migração dos jovens rurais; modelo de agricultura ‘alternativa’ e formação profissional. Como instrumento de pesquisa, utilizou-se de técnicas de observação direta, entrevistas semiestruturadas e pesquisa de documentos da instituição. Pode-se, então, constatar que o Serta desenvolve uma reconhecida atuação junto aos atores sociais do campo, ao procurar atribuir um novo papel para a juventude rural, implantando um modelo inovador de formação profissional com base na ação social, política e econômica, o que contribui para o desenvolvimento local e o fortalecimento da agricultura familiar. Por fim, evidencia-se a necessidade de continuidade da pesquisa proposta, de modo a contribuir ainda mais para o aprofundamento do debate relacionado ao trabalho, à educação e à formação profissional no campo. / The present research seeks to describe and understand vocational education in the country, based on the training proposal of Serta (Service of Alternative Technology) and the learning process of the young farmers included in the Technical Course of Agroecology of this same institution. Serta develops activities with young family farmers, agents of local development and agroecology. To understand the object of study proposed here, it was used of some analytical categories were discussed, based on a theoretical framework, about the notions of the rural; youth and rural youth; migration of rural youth; model of 'alternative' agriculture and vocational training. As a research tool, we used direct observation techniques, semistructured interviews and document search of the institution. It can be verified that Serta develops a recognized action with the social actors of the country, seeking to assign a new role for the rural youth, implanting an innovative model of professional formation based on social, political and economic action, the which contributes to local development and the strengthening of family farming. Finally, it is evident the need for continuity of the proposed research, in order to contribute even more to the deepening of the debate related to work, education and professional training in the country.
