Previous issue date: 2015-06-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This paper looks at difficulties presented by students of English as a Second Language who are not able to speak the language. Although dedicated to their studies, they can t overcome obstacles faced in their path. The current study has focused on mistakes as important occurrences to discuss this problem. Although mistakes are inevitable, they show an intricate relationship between the speaker and the language. This project aims to offer an alternative reflexion and analyses on mistakes in the acquisition process of English as a second language. Throughout this research, mistakes of Intermediate ESL (English of a Second Language) students are analysed based on two linguistically theoretical approach: Interactionism and Language Clínic . This work elected to (1) investigate errors of intermediate students (2) interpret mistakes under the theoretical perspective mentioned above; (3) reflect on the particular ways of the relationship speaker-language;(4) critically reflect on the traditional directions in formal ESL in light of this new perspective. Considerations on the relationship of the speaker and his mother language and its consequent interference in the acquisition of English as a second language are also discussed in this paper / A questão que move este trabalho foi deflagrada por dificuldades apresentadas por alunos de inglês como segunda língua - alunos que, apesar de dedicados ao estudo, não conseguem falar inglês . Eles esbarram e ficam detidos em dificuldades que se configuram como verdadeiros obstáculos em sua trajetória. Focaliza-se, neste projeto, o erro como ocorrência privilegiada para a discussão deste problema. Embora os erros sejam inevitáveis eles mostram uma relação intrincada entre a língua e o falante. Este projeto tem o objetivo de oferecer uma via alternativa de reflexão e de análise sobre o erro na aquisição do inglês como segunda língua de alunos intermediários, a partir da implicação de duas teorizações articuladas o Interacionismo em e a Clínica de Linguagem. Este trabalho elege (1) investigar erros como dados de fala de alunos com nível de proficiência intermediária; (2) interpretar o erro sob a ótica da perspectiva teórica indicada acima; (3) refletir sobre os modos particulares da relação do sujeito à língua; (4) refletir criticamente sobre as direções tradicionais do ensino formal de inglês como língua estrangeira à luz dessa nova perspectiva.
