Labirinto - logika ir alogizmas / Logic of labyrinths and alogisms

SUMMARY The master‘s thesis titled “Logic of Labyrinths and Alogisms” seeks to disclose the meaning of the labyrinth symbol and to go deep into it as a phenomenon existing in reality. The non-heterogeneity of this phenomenon has been disclosed by analysing the symbol of the labyrinth through the psychological, philosophical and mythological prisms. The author has made a conclusion that the labyrinth has two spheres of existence, which may be conditionally subdivided into logical and alogical. The author aimed at expressing the main concept of the theoretical studies of the master‘s thesis by using the artistic means. The principal aim was not only to maintain the classical depiction of the labyrinth but also to convey the phenomenon through the personal prism. Although the leather art employs a number of techniques and materials, the classical techniques and materials have been chosen in this master‘s thesis. Various art technologies of leather work have been paralleled in this creative project keeping to natural leather as a principal material. The analysis has come to the conclusion that the creative work of any artist may be compared with the search of the keys that could open the locks of sub-consciousness. During the creative process and with every new work the artist as if opens the lock on one of the doors that keep some secret behind them.
