Previous issue date: 2015-05-08 / FAPESPA - Fundação Amazônia de Amparo a Estudos e Pesquisas / A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo identificar o nível de fluência de leitura oral, a partir do componente velocidade, que nos fornece dados sobre a proficiência de leitura de alunos do 2° ano do Ensino Médio, de seis escolas públicas de Belém (PA), no ano letivo de 2013. Para tal, utilizou-se de um método padronizado e específico denominado de Curriculum-Based Measurement (DENO,1985), o qual permite avaliar a medida de velocidade de leitura de um sujeito, que é calcula subtraindo-se o total de erros cometidos do total de palavras lidas corretamente em um minuto. Esta pesquisa foi realizada com a participação de 76 alunos com a finalidade de observar se os mesmos liam de forma fragmentada ou em grupos grandes de palavras e se a leitura pode fluir de forma tranqüila, apresentando um bom nível de reconhecimento do vocabulário. Durante a realização da pesquisa, verificaram-se consideráveis informações dos envolvidos que participaram do trabalho, já que as amostras dos alunos demonstraram que boa parte possui fluência bem abaixo do esperado para o ensino médio, tendo em vista que ainda apresentam muitas falhas principalmente para o reconhecimento automático das palavras de um determinado texto. / The study aimed to identify the level of fluency of oral reading, from the velocity component which the provides data on the reading proficiency of students, the second year of high school, six public schools in Belém (PA) in 2013. We used a standard and specific method called Measurement-Based (DENO, 1985), which evaluates the measured reading speed of a subject, which is calculated by subtracting the total errors of the total words read correctly in one minute. This research was conducted with the participation of 76 students in order to observe if they read a fragmented way or in large groups of words and reading can flow smoothly, with a good level of recognition vocabulary. During conducting the research, it was found considerable information taken from the reading samples. Most of students have shown that their reading fluency is way bellow of the expected for the high school students. The majority demonstrated to have a suitable reading still for the beginning of the 9th grade and the other half of the students got proper reading yet for the 6th grade, and some students less than that. According of reading analysis by the CBM method, it is a result of little knowledge of the vocabulary, failures in automatic recognition of words, causing much slowness and hesitation in reading, which may contribute to failures in students understanding.
